Big FrEQ by Empirical Labs delivers full spectrum tone shaping with an analog twist

0

Empirical Labs has announced availability of version 1.0 of Big FrEQ, an equalizer effect plugin that was partially extrapolated from its much-loved Lil FreQ hardware parametric EQ.

Empirical Labs Big FrEQ

Big FrEQ is designed to single-handedly handle all tonal and spectral-shaping needs for single tracks, as well as buses, including use as a versatile mastering tool.

With twelve powerful sections of processing, BIG FrEQ offers the ability to create modern “flat-top” parametric shapes with an analog workflow and added controls for more tone-shaping possibilities than a typical EQ plug-in.

Inspired by the precision and warmth of Empirical Labs Lil FrEQ parametric equalizer, BIG FrEQ introduces superior fine tuning controls for surgical tone shaping and a unique FINISHER section for adding organic harmonic distortion.

Like the plug-in’s predecessor, the Arousor, Empirical Labs brings the soul of analog hardware to the digital realm and includes features that can not be replicated in the analog domain. As always, Empirical Labs offers new twists and functionality to their new plug-in EQ and labors over making it mindless to learn, and just plain FUN to use.

Available in VST3, AU and AAX plugin formats, Big FrEQ is on sale for a time-limited introductory price of $129 USD until November 12th, 2020 (regular $149 USD). A fully-functional, 15-day trial is available to download.

The plugin is also included with a Subscription license at $2.99 USD/month or $29.99 USD/year.
