-SYMMETRICAL CASTLE & Liquidclear- Present: Rectiplyer v1.0 A FREE Octave Distortion VST effect plugin for Windows VST Hosts *Created using SynthEdit* ------------- USER'S MANUAL ------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------ PLEASE USE THIS SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK, IT IS PROVIDED AS IS. IF *YOU* DO NOT AGREE TO TAKE ANY AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE OR LOSS INCURED BY THE USE OF THIS SOFTWARE, PLEASE REMOVE THIS SOFTWARE FROM YOUR PC'S HARD DRIVE IMMEDIATELY! ------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------- INSTALLATION: ------------- Extract the file named Rectiplyer.dll into your VST plugins folder. --------- OVERVIEW: --------- Rectiplier was designed to create interesting distorted and fuzzy lead guitar sounds. The effect simultaneously 'transposes' the optionally distorted input signal up 1 and 2 octaves and down 1 and 2 octaves using rectifiers and a zero-crossing modulation technique. Generally, the octave tones will sound not clean and smooth, but harsh and distorted, like a dirty fuzz box. The distorted/transposed signals can be blended together as well as individually panned. --------- CONTROLS: --------- Power: Turns Rectiplyer on and off (when off, thru signal is stereo) Tone: Adjusts cutoff of the 1p LP filter. Turn this to the left to reduce high frequencies and harshness. Octave Levels/Pan: Adjusts the level and stereo balance of each octave Drive Amount: Adjusts the intensity of the distortion Drive: Turns the distortion effect on and off Volume: Main output level ----- HINTS ----- * When the knobs are turned all the way to the left or right as well as dead center, the knob's dot will turn grey * Monophonic signals generally works best for clear, consonant sounds. When using a guitar, try the neck pickup with the hi-end rolled off as a good starting point for more synthetic type tones. * Try an envelope filter after (or before) Rectiplyer for synth-like sounds. * For the most part, subtlety with the panning controls is desireable. * Of course, you can experiment with other sound sources besides guitars. * Try running a basic saw string patch with slow automation of the octave levels/pan positions for some nasty droney noise. * Post-effect EQ and compression (and maybe a noise gate) will come in handy for getting your sound to fit in a mix nicely - Note: As with all SynthEdit plugs, you may hold the CTRL key while moving your mouse for finer knob and slider control. - For more *free* VST, samples, and more -- visit liquidclear.net - If you find Rectiplyer useful, I'd love to hear from you.
