Rob Papen has announced an update to its software synthesizer geared towards synth lovers who like to think outside the box and love to experiment.
Building on the additive synthesis of its 2012 predecessor, Blade 2 features a unique ‘Harmolator’ mode for harmonic shaping.
Next to the Harmolator mode, we have now included an Additive mode that lets you morph or mix among 4 additive waveforms using the XY pad. Of course, in addition to using these additive waves, you can also create and edit your own! Another new addition is a dedicated wave-analyze section that allows to analyze of sample data into a waveform, which then again can be used in the Harmolator or Additive section.
The update brings 60 new presets, including pads, synth sounds, arps and sequences. The synth now includes a total of 1,600+ presets.
Available in VST/VST3, AU and AAX formats for Windows and macOS, Blade 2 is on sale for 69 USD/EUR at Plugin Boutique and from the Rob Papen store until July 24th, 2026.
