Blanketfort Audio has announced an update to its dual-stage distortion and degradation effect plugin designed for producers and sound designers who crave more than just another drive knob.
Version 1.1 of Ruinator adds AAX support, 2 new distortion modes, a resizeable UI, and more.
Layer two distortion circuits in series or split them across frequencies, channels, or mid/side for complex, evolving grit. Each stage houses multiple distortion models ranging from warm analog-style saturation to full digital obliteration, letting you sculpt harmonics with surgical precision or destroy them entirely.
Push Ruinator even further with dynamic modulation — breathe life into static tones using powerful LFOs and envelope followers that respond to your playing. Add motion, texture, and unpredictable character to synths, drums, guitars, or even vocals.
Changes in Ruinator v1.1
- AAX support added for Pro Tools users.
- New distortion modes:
- Lo Fuzz: A Bass tuned Fuzz designed to make walls shake.
- Fold: A ‘West Coast’ style wavefolder, perfect for dirtying up synths.
- Swap button added to switch parameters between engines on the fly.
- UI Resize handle bottom right.
- Better gain compensation.
- Individual engine bypass option.
The new version is free for existing users. New customers can purchase Ruinator for Windows and Mac (VST3, AU and AAX) for $29 USD until December 31st, 2025 (regular $49 USD).
