BOOM Library has announced an update for its general sound effects library BOOM ONE, bringing over 6GB of new sounds across 550+ files.
From raw metallic friction and close-miced board game detail to a complete female military NPC vocal set, BOOM ONE Update 26-06 gives sound designers source material for aggressive design, intimate Foley, and combat-ready scene population.
- Metallic Motion: Raw friction and heavy impacts – Over 300 files focused solely on the movement, the scraping, and the impact of heavy metal. The team captured massive door scrapes, bent a crushed engine hood, and recorded strikes from solid and hollow materials. To deliver the grit required for aggressive sound design, rusty metal parts were dragged, a metal fence was warped, and sheet metal was stressed under load. Heavy iron pieces were submerged under water for resonant scraping, producing signatures rarely heard in commercial libraries.
- Board Games: Close-miced physical details – Over 200 files capturing precise board game movements. This category covers dealing and shuffling playing cards, moving chess pieces, shaking diverse dice cups, and handling wooden meeples. Game packaging and a children’s roulette wheel round out the set. Every recording is dry, controlled, and ready to drop into board game projects or intimate room ambiences without further treatment.
- NPC Vocals: Military – Following the male military vocals from the previous release, BOOM Library brought in a professional voice actor to record the complete female military NPC counterpart. This is a full vocal package, delivering the combat barks, tactical callouts, and background chatter required to populate combat scenes without booking additional ADR sessions.
The update is free for existing BOOM Library subscribers.
