Ewan Bristow has introduced a powerful spectral re-synthesis tool built with Plugdata.
The ChameleonXV2 plugin analyzes your input signal and identifies its 8 most dominant harmonics. Once captured, it recreates your sound using either wavetable or granular synthesis techniques.
ChameleonX Was my first ever release with plugdata, and so i’ve re-vamped it, and given it a bit of a UI overhaul. It has some spectral preservation options, can track 8 harmonics in a signal and can even reconstruct entire songs, basses and chords.
ChameleonXV2 features
- Dual Re-synthesis Engines: Primary wavetable engine and secondary granular engine for versatile sound design, giving you ample room for sound design control.
- Spectral Preservation: Apply frequency-domain processing extracted from the original signal. The “melodyne” masking effect that colourbass producers are obsessed with.
- Voice Count Visualiser: Monitor up to 8 harmonic voices and their amplitudes in real-time.
- Wavetable-Filters: Apply lowpass filtering to individual wavetable engines for enhanced bass control.
- Midi-Visual Display: Extract and visualise 20hz to 4000hz, expressed on the MIDI visualiser.
- Control Centre/OTT: Built-in OTT compression with adjustable low, mid, and high controls.
Available for the Plugdata (free, with support for VST3, CLAP, AU and LV2 plugin formats), ChameleonXV2 is priced £9.99 GBP at Ewan’s Gumroad store.
