CP Samples has announced the release of Great British Studios, an expansion library by Chris Whitten and Peter Henderson for the TD-17 series V-Drums from Roland.

Chris Whitten came to prominence in the 1980’s, playing drums with The Waterboys, World Party and Julian Cope. Whitten drummed on The Waterboys enduring anthem ‘The Whole Of The Moon’, World Party’s Grammy nominated ‘Goodbye Jumbo’ album, Chrissie Hynde’s songs for the ‘Living Daylights’ James Bond score, and on the double platinum ‘Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars’ album by Edie Brickell And The New Bohemians. Chris recorded the hit album ‘Flowers In The Dirt’ with Paul McCartney and joined Paul on his highly acclaimed World tour in 1989/90. Following that with a second record breaking World tour with Dire Straits (1991/92).

Peter Henderson started his career at AIR Studios where he trained exclusively with Beatles’ recording engineer Geoff Emerick (Sgt. Pepper, Abbey Road etc.) Peter also worked on numerous sessions as an in-house engineer with the legendary George Martin. As a freelance producer / engineer he co-produced Supertramp’s 25 million selling ‘Breakfast In America’, for which he won a Grammy (Best Engineered Album) and has also worked with Paul McCartney, Rush, Frank Zappa and Jeff Beck. Peter headed the audio restoration team for American Epic a four part documentary series and 12 CD / Vinyl collection for Sony / Third Man. He recently completed audio restoration work on a new and soon to be released Led Zeppelin documentary.

Together they have worked on several Toontrack drum sample libraries including: Superior ‘Custom & Vintage’, ‘Vintage Rock EZX’, ‘The Classic EZX and the 2020 release, ‘Kicks & Snares EZX’. In 2017 Whitten and Henderson recorded an extensive collection of acoustic drums for Roland’s hybrid drum sample module; TM-6 Pro (released Spring 2018) and in September 2019 (as CP Samples) created the ‘Chris Whitten Drums’ expansion pack for the TM-6 Pro.
