A new standalone sample manager that automatically organizes sample libraries using custom-trained machine learning models, Curate indexes samples from any source (Splice, LANDR, Loopcloud, downloaded packs or personal recordings) into one searchable library, leaving the existing folder structure untouched.
The analysis engine detects instrument, genre, musical key and scale, BPM, and one-shot vs. loop for every file. On top of the automatic tagging, Curate offers semantic search: producers can type natural language queries such as “punchy 808 kick” or “dark ambient pad” and search the audio itself rather than filenames. A similarity search finds acoustically related sounds based on any selected sample, and the Galaxy view displays the entire library as an interactive map in which similar sounds cluster together.
Additional features include a Shortlist for auditioning candidate samples side by side, Crates for personal collections, a duplicate finder that detects renamed copies across folders and drives, sample preview with real-time pitch shifting and tempo adjustment, and drag & drop into any DAW, including Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Bitwig Studio, REAPER and Pro Tools.
Curate works fully offline. An internet connection is only required for license activation. It was developed over the course of 1.5 years by Marius, a solo developer who built it out of frustration with existing sample managers.
