Darwin’s Cat has announced an update to its free and fully open-source (AGPLv3) impulse-response cabinet loader for electric guitar and bass.
Version 1.3 of OrbitCab makes the recent-IR list system-wide (not session-only), and it now ships with 24 presets as read-only factory presets.

OrbitCab features
- Two IR slots with A↔B blend.
- Per-slot HPF, LPF, trim, head alignment, phase, and dry/wet.
- A/B/C/D snapshots, undo/redo, auto-level, live spectrum.
- File/folder browser and drag-and-drop loading; bundled cabinet packs.
- Presets that export/import with the IR embedded.
- Session state is versioned, so updates don’t break old projects.
OrbitCat is available in VST3, AU, and CLAP plugin formats for Windows, macOS and Linux.
