discoDSP has announced an update to the software synthesizer instrument inspired by the OB-X polyphonic analog subtractive synthesizer by Oberheim.
Version 3.6 of OB-Xd focuses on making MIDI controls more intuitive, resolving key mapping issues, and enhancing compatibility with popular hardware.
OB-Xd is a classic synthesizer that captivates musicians with its rich, full-bodied tones and expansive sound design. Perfect for adding a vintage touch to electronic tracks, live recordings, or film scores, OB-Xd brings unique and expressive qualities to your music.
Changes in OB-Xd v3.6
- Effortless MIDI Control: Expanded MIDI CC mappings give you more control than ever before. Previously unmapped parameters like Voice Multiply, Filter Envelope Shape, and Filter Falloff now have default CC assignments, making fine-tuning a breeze.
- Precision meets simplicity: Resolved long-standing mapping overlaps and fine-tuned the LFO MIDI output listener, ensuring accurate control over modulation settings.
- Refined interface for better workflow: Fine adjustment controls are now optimized for every platform, using Ctrl on Linux and Alt elsewhere to avoid conflicts.
- Expanded compatibility: Fixed Korg MS2000 MIDI XML mappings, improving integration and usability. The updated PDF manual has detailed descriptions of all MIDI CC mappings.
The updated version is available for Windows, Mac and Linux for $49 USD (free for non-commercial use), and for iOS/AUv3 for $19.99 USD.
