Berlin-based audio engineer Yuval Miller has introduced a standalone Mac app that listens to audio content rather than filenames to organize messy stem and sample folders.
Dr. Session decodes each file with a neural audio model to identify what it actually is, regardless of naming. It then sorts, renames, and, for Ableton users, builds a complete .als session with clips already placed on correctly named and colored tracks, optionally dropped straight into the user’s own template.
Drop a folder of stems, one-shots, or raw session dumps into Dr. Session. It listens to what is actually inside every file, sorts it, renames it, and if you work in Ableton it builds the whole session for you.
