Emergence Audio has released a new virtual instrument that aims to redefine how low brass can function in modern composition, from trailers to ambient sound design. Designed to breathe and fracture, Obsidian Brass explores evolving low brass textures featuring the sounds of world-class French horn player Meredith Moor.
Obsidian Brass was born from the tension between force and fragility, the power of brass, refracted through stillness, space, and sonic decay.
Where traditional brass libraries lean into bravado and cinematic impact, we chose a different path: one that explores the evolving tonal edges of this instrument through a lens of erosion, emergence, and movement.
The library is intended for composers who build with atmosphere and sound designers seeking contrast, positioned between heroic and ambient sounds.
Obsidian Brass is available at the introductory price of $79 USD for a limited time (regular $119 USD).
