Épica Audio has announced the release of a creative multi-effects plugin developed in collaboration with Joe Chiccarelli, multi Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer (The White Stripes, The Strokes, Morrissey, Little Dragon, The Killers).
Designed to push productions into bold, unexpected sonic territory, Resonant Reverb turns reverb into a full-on sound-crafting instrument.
At the core of the plug-in is a dual resonant filter architecture, placed both before and after the reverb engine. The pre-reverb HPF and LPF controls determine which frequencies enter the reverb; the post-reverb filters sculpt the reverb tail itself. Pushing the resonance values unlocks evolving textures, resonant sweeps, metallic tails, and animated spatial movement. Combined with a built-in 1176-style compression stage in the reverb engine, the result is dense, alive, and deeply characterful.
The applications are deliberately wide: radio telescope vocals, 808 kick extenders with analog-style sustain, gunshot snares, white-noise snare textures, vintage 1970s rock rooms, bass cabinet simulators, techno bass repeaters, squashed vocals.
The 58 factory presets were personally designed by Joe Chiccarelli. They are not starting points — each one is a complete tone-shaping chain reflecting his tonal instincts, studio techniques, and listening approach, across vocals, drums, bass, guitars, synths, and mix utility.
Available for Windows and macOS (VST3, AU and AAX), Resonant Reverb is on sale for the intro price of $55.98 USD (regular $79.98 USD) + tax.
