EVAbeat has announced a major update to its melody creation plugin for Windows and macOS. Version 3.1 of Melody Sauce adds plugin hosting, chord voicings, audio export and more.
Melody Sauce 3 is a VST3/AU plugin that generates unique melodies, chord progressions, and bass lines inside your DAW. Its algorithms create an unlimited supply of original musical ideas, played by the plugin’s 300+ internal sounds or through your own instrument plugins loaded inside MS3. A range of editing features let you tweak melodies inside the plugin, or you can drag them as MIDI or rendered audio directly into your DAW.
Changes in Melody Sauce v3.1
- Plugin hosting: load your own plugins inside MS3 and play the melody, chords and bass directly through them.
- Chord voicings: change the feel of chords with over 100 voicings, from simple 2-note chords and tight stacks to wide-open spreads.
- Phrase lock: lock part of the melody and generate a new melody around it.
- Audio export: render WAV stems, with an optional audio tail.
- Improved piano roll: with an expanded view and more editing features.
- Improved generative algorithms.
- More chord progressions: now over 1,000.
Other additions include sound scenes and sound locks, style favorites, Chord Lock that keeps your chords when you change style, a Play button in the top bar, and Export MIDI… in the Settings menu. The Phrase Editor has been renamed Variations.
A free update for existing Melody Sauce 3 users, new customers can purchase the plugin for $79 USD for a limited time at the EVAbeat store and from Plugin Boutique (regular $99 USD). Owners of Melody Sauce 1 or 2 can upgrade for $29 USD until October 4th, 2026.
