fedDSP has announced the release of a ceiling-based character clipper built to make clipping more useful than simple peak shaving, offering everything from mastering grade peak control to full-on destruction.
CLIPPERITO delivers loudness, density, color, M/S handling and 10 clipping styles in one powerful tool.
Clipping should do way more than make things louder. It should control peaks, inflate the tone by adding density, and bring sounds forward, allowing you to be as moderate or as reckless as you want to. CLIPPERITO was built around that idea: a simple but powerful layout that lets you do all of the above with a minimal set of controls. No reason to overcomplicate things.
Behind that simplicity, there is a lot of flexibility. Hard, Soft, Tube, Tape, Diode, FET, Iron, Console, Exciter and Crush are the 10 modes that give CLIPPERITO its character. Each one changes both the clipping behaviour and the drive response, effectively giving you 10 different clipping and saturation behaviours in one plug-in.
The plugin comes with useful tools such as three oversampling settings (ZERO, HQ and ULTRA), Mid and Side level control that can be placed either before or after the clipping stage, output high-pass and low-pass filters, and fedDSP’s signature zero-latency limiter at the end of the chain.
