fedDSP has announced the release of a guitar plugin built to capture the feel, response, and character of a real amp experience in digital form.
Drawing on more than twenty years of hands-on work with tube amplifiers, Fed has shaped fedZEP around two original amp designs, a carefully selected collection of pedals and effects, and an advanced cabinet section. The result is a versatile rock machine that moves seamlessly from sparkly clean to shamelessly dirty tones.
Built from the ground up and refined by ear, fedZEP captures the feel, unpredictability, and responsiveness of real tube amps while introducing a modern workflow designed for speed and flexibility. With zero latency at its core, fedZEP ensures that tone stays directly connected to the player’s touch, making it equally suited to studio production and live performance.
Two bold amps with infinite flexibility
At the heart of fedZEP are two distinct amp models: CLEAN and CRUNCH. CLEAN delivers everything from sparkling, pristine tones to touch-sensitive breakup, driven by a dual-volume architecture that individually shapes attack character and harmonic density. CRUNCH expands into heavier territory, offering layered gain staging that moves from chunky, percussive distortion to massive, sustained walls of sound.
Both amps are built around highly responsive tone stacks, with dedicated Presence, Depth, and Master controls, plus switchable EL84 and 6973 style voicings for added character and flexibility. Extended options including input filtering, bright cap, and sag behaviour let users shape everything from front end tightness to power-stage-style compression, delivering a playing experience that feels dynamic, expressive, and naturally responsive to playing.
Dual cabs, instant inspiration
fedZEP’s cabinet section includes 25 custom-captured speakers, each carefully tuned to match the broad tonal range of the amps. Users can run single or dual cab configurations, blending between them with precision while adjusting phase and timing for optimal alignment.
A built-in randomisation feature, RANDO, is designed to spark inspiration, while a ROOM control adds realistic spatial depth, helping tones sit naturally in a studio-like space. Support for third-party impulse responses further expands the sonic possibilities.
Pedals and FX built for character
The plug-in includes three original preamp pedals designed to shape tone before it hits the amp. SNAPPER handles dynamics and transient shaping with a responsive compression circuit, ELEGANTE provides focused midrange drive for clarity and articulation, and MORSO delivers two flavours of thick, characterful distortion inspired by vintage hardware.
An integrated FX rack completes the signal chain. ECO DELAY captures the movement and unpredictability of classic tape echoes, WHOLE LOTTA VERB blends plate and hall characteristics for rich spatial textures, and DOUBLE DENIM CHORUS introduces width and modulation without sacrificing clarity. Each module is designed to complement the core tone while remaining flexible in both placement and intensity.

An 8-band graphic EQ, high and low-pass filters, and a dynamic low-mid control ensure precise tone shaping without the need for external tools. A built-in tuner, noise gate, and flexible input and output controls provide everything required for efficient gain staging and performance readiness.
With support for VST3, Audio Unit, and AAX formats across macOS and Windows, fedZEP integrates seamlessly into all major DAWs. Its zero-latency performance makes it suitable for both tracking and live use, responding as quickly as the user’s audio interface allows.
