Image-Line continues its series of tutorials on mixing in the FL Studio music production software with a look at the delay effect.

We asked you what tutorial to make next. You said Mixing! Delays give your mix a sense of space and dimensionality without the density reverb can create. In this tutorial we show you where to use delay and some of the delays effects available in FL Studio.

Delays are often perceived as echo and can make the listener feel like sounds exist in a room or space while avoiding adding the wash of sound a reverb creates. This can help open up the mix. Think of delay as a Reverb lite! They are also perfect for special effects like stereo ping-pongs and more.

FL Studio users can download the project files of the tutorial from the Looptalk forum. New users can download a free time unlimited trial version of FL Studio from the Image-Line website.
