FRCTL Audio has introduced an algorithmic reverb effect which turns the reverb tail down while the source is playing, then lets it back up in the gaps.
AURA features various controls to adjust the reverb and tail, 7 characters (Room, Plate, Hall, Chamber, Bloom, Shimmer and Space), tail and reverb EQs, a versatile gate, sidechain key input, a spectrum analyzer, A/B compare, undo and redo, mix lock, and user presets.
AURA is an algorithmic reverb built around one idea: a beautiful tail and a clear mix are usually in conflict, and the usual fixes all live outside the reverb (a sidechain compressor on the return, an EQ scoop on the send, an automation lane riding the throw). AURA builds those in and drives them from one knob called CLARITY. The tail steps out of the way of your source while it plays and comes back in the gaps, so you can run a six-second hall under a lead vocal and still hear the words.
The plugin includes 71 factory presets across 9 categories to get you started. AURA is available in VST3, AU and CLAP formats for Windows, macOS and Linux, on sale for the intro price of $24.99 USD until August 12th, 2026 (regular $34.99 USD). A 14-day trial is available to try the plugin.
AURA Lite is permanently free and has a limited amount of controls (Size, Decay, Clarity and Mix). It features the same engine as the paid plugin rather than a reduced one, voiced on the Hall character, and its CLARITY knob drives the same ducking and the same band-by-band unmasking at the same quality.
