iFeature has released a free audio analyzer app and plugin designed to dock along the top edge of the screen above any DAW, browser, or other window.
AURA stays visible even when the DAW is in the background, offering seven selectable analysis modules that can be reordered and resized freely, plus a rolling buffer that keeps the last 30 seconds to 5 minutes of audio available to drag out as a WAV even after the fact.
Everyone should be able to see what they are doing, whatever the budget looks like this month. So AURA is free, for good. And since seeing what you are hearing is the quickest way to understand it, it belongs in a classroom just as much as in a studio.
