Independent developer and beatmaker Dan Hillman wrote in to share about his new browser-based sampler and beat workstation.
Built over roughly a year as a side project, Chop Stop is designed to make chopping, sequencing and arranging feel immediate, tactile and musical in the browser. Users can load a YouTube video source, turn cues into playable MPC-style pads, then build beats with a sample sequencer and drum machine.
Pads can be played from the keyboard or a MIDI controller, while live overdub supports both quantised and natural off-grid recording adding that human touch to your beats.
