West Highland Sound has announced a new Kontakt instrument sampled from wine glasses. Made for delicate, glassy textures in film and game scoring, Cinematic Wineglasses is offered as a free download.
Struck, rubbed and bowed wine glasses, recorded in a beautiful room and shaped into fifty-two instruments. Two from struck and rubbed samples, and fifty bowed patches, each one from its own unique performance. Some are delicate and quietly spiritual, others considerably less polite.
Cinematic Wineglasses features
- 2 core instruments: Rubbed Wineglass and Struck Wineglass, the latter with 48 samples per note across 8 round robins.
- 50 bowed patches across pads, swells, undulations, drones, shorts, and more.
- 2 independent reverbs: Space, for placing the glass in a room without changing perceived volume, and Tail, for adding atmosphere on top without touching the core tone.
- Tempo-synced ping-pong delay, full ADSR envelope, and Drive and Damp controls, all shaping the whole instrument from the advanced page.
- One-knob main page with Reverb and Tail linked so either can be adjusted from either screen.
Cinematic Wineglasses is available for the full version of Kontakt 6.8 or later. It is free when joining West Highland Sound’s mailing list, which also comes with a 15% off code for Tongues for new subscribers.
