Fanan Team has released a seeded MIDI arpeggiator that composes entire performances from a single number rather than a fixed pattern. Domina produces no sound of its own, instead playing whatever instrument is placed after it.
Entering a six-digit seed generates a full pattern of note lengths, rests, ties, accents, and a melodic line that leaps and resolves the way a human player would; changing the chord under the pattern updates the melody, and changing the seed produces an entirely different piece.
Nothing is stored and nothing is rendered: six digits rebuild the whole pattern exactly, on any computer, years from now. Find a phrase you love and write the number down – that is the entire patch. Behind the seed are three independent random streams: one for the musical form, one for the rhythm, one for the pitch. Because they are separate, turning a rhythm knob rewrites the rhythm and leaves the melodic contour exactly where it was. You can hunt for the right density without losing the tune you just found.
