Mercurial Tones has introduced a new volume shaper plugin which lets you draw the exact shape of your volume and lock it to the beat. The multi-band Janggo offers ducking, gating, tremolo and sidechain pumping, all from one hand-drawn curve, independently on every band.
The plugin features an easy to use node editor with curved tension, grid snap, a live playhead to see the audio you’re drawing the curve on, and it locks to the beat.
Sync every cycle to host tempo across a full division set — eight bars down to 1/64, straight, dotted and triplet — add swing for feel, and choose how each cycle fires: six trigger modes for six kinds of movement.
Janggo can split bands into low, mid and high section, apply different curves for each, and independently trigger them. The plugin also includes a built-in envelope follower which ducks from the signal with threshold, attack and release, and a live gain-reduction trace.
A selection of 210 presets is included to get you started.
Janggo is free and a available in VST3 and AU plugin formats and as standalone software for Windows and macOS.
