Sound Overflow has recently launched a collection of VST3 effect plugins for Windows, two of which are free to download.
MICRO is a granular glitch effect with 4 stackable modules and a 4-LFO modulation matrix.
MICRO constantly captures whatever comes in. Grains, short windowed fragments, pick from that memory and replay it according to the module that fired them: scattered, stuttered, reversed or burnt.
Drop it on a drum loop, turn STUTTER and DISTO on, route a synced square LFO to a gate: the pattern tears itself apart in time. Feedback feeds the capture itself, the texture degrades and evolves on its own.
RETUNE converts any signal from one reference tuning to another, the classic 440 Hz down to 432 Hz, without touching timing or attacks.
RETUNE replays your signal like a tape head set very precisely to the new speed: the applied ratio is exact, and splices place themselves in low-energy moments to stay inaudible.
Insert it on a track or on the master, pick 432 Hz, keep Dry/Wet at 100%: the whole piece changes tuning with timing and transients intact. Both tuners show the same note when the conversion is correct.
Additionally, the following paid plugins are available from €29 EUR each:
- NEBULOOS: Transform audio into evolving clouds and deep spatial textures.
- DRON: Combine four sound layers and several synthesis families within a single interface.
- DUBASS: Monophonic dub bass: dense low end, tube amp, tape delay and reverb.
- EUCLID: Four Euclidean tracks and 49 scales for MIDI patterns that never quite repeat.
- GRAIN: 8-voice granular sampler with two sources and twelve textures generated inside the plugin.
- SPEC: Spectral freeze: capture a moment of the signal and stretch it forever.
- CHORALIS: Generate expressive harmonic movements, chords and notes.
- TEXTU: Texture and glitch: repeats, shuffles, crushes and feeds sound back into its own loop.
- CHORDUB: Dub chords – one key, the whole voicing, and the space that goes with it.
