Following the recent MUEDsat and MUEDlim, MUEDsp has introduced a new saturator effect designed to push the middle and the low end of your sound.
Not a demo or a trial — it’s the third free plugin I’ve put out under MUED. Unlike the first two, though, it isn’t a stage lifted out of MUEDsp masterchain, my mastering chain; it’s a standalone plugin I started outside the chain. Where MUEDsat adds sheen up top, this one is about what happens when you push the middle and the low end. On a bus, a drum bus, or before your master: run it through, push DRIVE, and each character breaks up differently.
The interface of MUEDrive features intuitive controls including DRIVE, an OUTPUT trim, a MIX knob for parallel blending, and a true-dry BYPASS switch. It also includes a FOCUS control, which allows you to precisely set where the audio begins to break up.
At the heart of the system is a three-position CHARACTER selector offering “tube,” “warm,” and “console” settings. Rather than copying existing hardware, these unique modes were custom-built from scratch using precise measurements, with their descriptive names serving simply to guide your creative choices.
MUEDrive is free and available in VST3, AU and AAX plugin formats for macOS.
