FKFX Audio has introduced a humanizer and mix utility plugin designed to add subtle movement to otherwise static tracks.
Part of this year’s Developer Challenge at KVR Audio, NanoMix creates slow, smooth, repeatable micro-variations in level, pan, and MIDI parameters to make static tracks feel more alive.
It uses a controlled Chaos engine to generate smooth, semi-random variations in volume, pan, and MIDI output. The movement is visible in the interface in real time, so the user can immediately see how the Chaos engine behaves and how smooth the variations are. Despite the name, Chaos does not mean unstable or unpredictable modulation. The generated movement is locked to the host timeline and remains the same at the same position in the project, unless the seed is changed. This makes the result fully repeatable on playback and bounce.
NanoMix can be used on vocals, synths, pads, drums, loops, background elements, or MIDI instruments where very small changes in level, pan, or MIDI values can help the part feel less rigid. It is intended for subtle mix animation and humanization rather than obvious modulation effects, although stronger settings can also be used for creative results.
NanoMix is free to download in VST/VST3 and AU plugin formats for Windows and macOS at KVR Audio.
