Hyperfocus DSP has released version 0.7.6 of its free and open source kick synth for Windows, macOS and Linux.
The update to Niner includes MIDI Learn for relative encoders, sample-accurate MIDI dispatch, a Linux launcher rewrite that auto-detects USB MIDI controllers, and a UI polish pass with the new “9” header lockup.
A kick drum synthesizer. Three voices — SUB sine, MID sine+noise, TOP band-passed click — layered into a five-mode distortion palette, a tilt/low/notch master EQ, and a master bus that goes RMS comp → transformer drive → brickwall limiter → auto tube warmth. A parallel 909-style CLAP voice rides alongside. Sixteen-step sequencer, factory + user presets, one-shot WAV/AIFF bounce.
Niner is available in VST3 and CLAP plugin formats and as standalone software.
