Leigh Pierce has announced the release of two effect plugins circuit modeled after two classic bass pedals. Additionally, the previously released Tommy and Monarch of Tone guitar pedal plugins have been recently updated with some performance and accuracy updates.
NoAmp Low Rider DI (Sansamp Bass Driver DI) features all three revisions of this pedal to access any sound or era from the ’90s til now for the classic BDDI sound. From some clean shaping, to full clank and growl, this plugin will do it all.
Rather than model one fixed circuit, this plugin lets you pick which era of the pedal you’re playing through, right down to the component-level differences Tech 21 made between production runs. I wanted to capture the unique differences, as I remember early in my studio assistant days, bringing my own SansAmp BDDI into the studio and the producer saying “Oh, you got one of the good ones! They’re much better than the newer ones.” He was referring to my v1 Early as opposed to the V1 Late, and it’s always stuck with me.
Obsidian B7000 (Darkglass B7K Ultra) brings the sound that can be heard all over modern rock and metal bass. This plugin fully emulates both the clean and distorted sides, with all the Ultra upgrades.
Eight pots (Master, Blend, Level, Drive, Bass, Lo‑Mids, Hi‑Mids, Treble), two 3‑way toggles (Attack: Boost/Flat/Cut, Grunt: three bass-content levels into the clipper), two 3‑position frequency selectors (Lo‑Mid 250/500/1 kHz, Hi‑Mid 750 Hz/1.5 kHz/3 kHz), and two independent footswitches — a true bypass and a second Distortion footswitch that mutes just the overdrive path while the EQ/Master stage keep running, so the pedal can sit always-on as a clean DI/EQ with drive stomped in on top.
Available in VST3 and AU formats for Windows and macOS, both plugins features live and render oversampling options, a resizable UI, built-in presets, -12dB calibration, and input and output trims with trim linking.
