Igorski has announced the release of a new audio effect plugin. Phlegetron is a multi-distortion that works across dual bands, with the bands either separated by a crossover filter or split into separate harmonic “bins”.
Each side of the split can be treated to a different distortion process (you can choose between wave shaping, wave folding, fuzz and bit crushing) allowing you to emphasize different harmonic frequencies to carefully tune the effect by targeting a deliciously nasty zone inside your mix.
Fully open source, Phlegetron is available to download in VST3 and AU plugin formats for Windows and macOS. Linux users can compile from source.
