Decent Samples has announced the release of the Soviet PIF Synth, a free sample library featuring the raw analog waveforms of a Soviet-era children’s synthesizer.
These Pif synths were designed for children. They were produced from roughly 1989-1993 in a city called Ромны in the Ukraine. The factory that produced them, Роменский завод АТС, specialized in industrial telephone equipment, but also made several consumer products including this synthesizer.
Soviet PIF Synth runs in the free Decent Sampler player plugin for Windows, Mac and Linux (VST/VST3, AU, AAX and standalone).
