Independent one-person developer StudioZIO wrote in to share about two free audio plugins for macOS built around the idea that measurement is not a separate product.
StudioZIO Mastering Suite features 9 mastering stages on a single surface in the order the audio takes: mid/side, saturation, Pink Match, VCA glue compressor, maximizer, 3-band tone EQ, clipper, lookahead true-peak limiter, and an output stage for dither, word length and delivered true peak.
Tonal shaping, dynamics, stereo control and delivery metering in a single environment, so the gain structure stays in one place instead of drifting across a chain of windows.
The plugin is free to download in VST3 and AU plugin formats and as standalone software for macOS 11+.
Also available is StudioZIO Tempo Delay, a tempo-synced stereo delay with fully independent left and right delay lines. It has separate buffers and separate note divisions, so the two sides can sit on different rhythmic values against one tempo rather than one stereo time with a spread control.
Most stereo delays compute a single time and derive the other channel from it. This one runs two independent buffers, which changes what you can write rather than just how it sounds.
Available for macOS 12+ (VST3/AU and standalone, Apple Silicon only), the plugin features ping-pong routing, filters and soft-clip saturation inside the feedback loop, 3 character voicings, LFO modulation, ducking, and mid/side width. It comes with 32 automatable parameters, and reports zero latency.
