The Crow Hill Company has introduced a new Vaults series installment featuring an instrument so ancient its invention is shrouded in myth.
A truly evil instrument originally designed (as legend has it) by Hermes to distract Apollo so that he could steal 50 of his sacred cattle. The Lyre is an excellent device to add an instrument full of piercing harmonics that sit comfortably above dialogue and really cut through a mix.
Vaults: Lyre features round robins and dynamic layers going from super brushed fingertips to aggressively plucked Koto-like tones. It comes with a one-of-a-kind random tremolando that can be used to increase tension and sustain a short-lived plucked tone. The 4 effects macros aim to bring the Lyre to life using a combination of polyrhythmic delays and a sumptuous reverb.
The latest Vaults instrument for Windows and macOS (VST/VST3, AU and AAX) is free to download for a limited time.
