Future Audio Workshop has introduced an update to its virtual instrument which combines chord ideas, performance, and ready-to-play sounds in a single free-flowing plugin.
Version 1.0.3 of Notes comes with FAW’s most advanced chord detection yet, external instrument import, and more.
With the latest update, we put our Chord Sampler head-to-head against Logic’s chord detection and Notes came out on top. Drag in any loop or sample to detect the chords — even complex jazz harmonies. Play them instantly in any key, with any sound you want.
Notes now also lets users import SoundFont (SFZ) and Decent Sampler instruments, allowing for an expanded sound palette through your personal library or the huge range of free instruments available online.
The update also includes a sound design mode (edit and map your own instruments), pack export and renaming, improved processor usage across DSP modules, and fixes for high processor usage in the Vintage insert effect on certain processors and an issue where opening and closing the interface while an instrument is loading would cause a crash.
Existing users can update for free, while new customers can purchase Notes for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU) for $40 USD for a limited time at Future Audio Workshop and from distributors such as Plugin Boutique (regular $80 USD).
