fy_niceworld has announced the release of an audio plugin which combines a tape deck, tape delay and reverb to add lo-fi character to drums, synths, and keys.
Featuring controls for wow, flutter, drift, saturation, delay feedback, and modulation, fy_nicetape allows users to create anything from subtle tape warmth to degraded cassette-style textures. Similar to the fy_niceslice slicer plugin, fy_nicetape is housed in an interface reminiscent of the Windows 95/98 operation system.
All of my plugins share a late 90s / early 2000s Windows-inspired aesthetic, recreating the look and feel of old chatrooms, notepad apps, and screensavers like the classic orange.exe. The idea is to capture the cozy online vibe of that era while providing modern music production tools.
Currently in beta, fy_nicetape is available as a free download in VST3 format for Windows.
