Golden DSP has introduced an algorithmic reverb plugin aimed at simplifying how reverb tails sit around a mix, particularly for vocals and other dry-heavy material.
Silkbrush pairs a Lexicon-inspired spatial character with built-in intelligent ducking, automatically pulling the reverb tail back behind dry transients and letting it bloom during pauses — without needing to set up external sidechain routing.
Silkbrush Reverb completely eliminates the tedious routing of sidechain sends, high-pass EQs, and ducking compressors—delivering that elusive sweet spot of a massive, wet reverb that never drowns out your dry vocal.
Frequency Pocketing dynamically carves space to keep the reverb from masking the lead signal, Mid/Side Diffusion keeps the dry source anchored center while spreading high-frequency reflections wide, and a Transient Softening mode applies a gentler attack for gluing drum breaks together without harshness. It ships with 65 ready-to-use presets and is built for a light CPU footprint, with processing times reported as low as 0.4 ms.
Silkbrush for Windows and macOS (VST3, AU, and AAX) is on sale for an introductory $39 USD for a limited time (regular $59 USD).
