Gooey Audio has announced an update to its butter-smooth frequency shifter designed to create swirling motion, phased ambiance, and evolving tension.
Built using a combination of Hilbert transforms and rotational phasing, The Freq delivers elegantly defined frequency shifting with fluid, continuous movement. Version 2 comes with new features, improved performance, and a compelling new skin.
The latest update introduces a new feedback line that cycles the processed signal back into the shifter, creating cascading phasing effects similar to a barber pole phaser.
New operating modes, including BPM Sync Mode, allow the feedback phasing to lock directly to the tempo of your DAW, making The Freq more versatile than ever for risers, atmospheric movement, and experimental sound design.
The Freq for Windows and macOS (VST3, AU and AAX) is now available at an introductory price of $4.99 USD through June 1st, 2026 (regular $29.99 USD). A free demo version is available to try the plugin.
