UB DSP has announced the release of a saturation effect plugin featuring 12 blendable saturation types and a triangle-based mixing interface.
Rather than switching between saturation modes, Grit Blender lets users blend multiple types together in real time. Three blend modes are available: a 3-Way Triangle (pick three types, drag to blend), a 12-Way Advanced panel with individual sliders for all types, and a Dual Stage mode that chains two blend triangles in series with automatic inter-stage filtering.
The 12 saturation types are: Tape, Tube, Transistor, Digital, Diode, Fuzz, Desk, Ribbon, Pentode, Rectifier, Wavefolder, and Asymmetric. Each models a different analog or digital nonlinearity.
Additional features:
- Punch: automatic transient restoration (no threshold to set).
- Smooth: dynamic de-harshing (3-band, targeting 2.5k/6k/12k Hz).
- M/S processing with independent drive and mix per channel.
- Key track with audio sidechain pitch detection or MIDI input.
- 5 post-saturation tone curve types (Tilt, Warm, Air, Smile, Presence).
- Loudness-matched bypass for honest A/B comparison.
- A/B comparison slots, undo/redo (30 levels).
- All parameters exposed to DAW modulators (individual saturation type amounts, drive, tone, mix, etc.).
- Oversampling: 2x, 4x, 8x.
- 39 factory presets across 7 categories.
Available in VST3, AU and CLAP formats for macOS, Windows, and Linux, Grit Blender is on sale for the intro price of $29 USD until April 3rd, 2026 (regular $58 USD). A free trial with full functionality (periodic silence) is available to try the plugin.
