HoRNet Plugins has announced an update to its a Spaces room-based reverb plugin that simulates acoustics using ray tracing physics.
Designed for producers, mixers, and sound designers who prefer a “room workflow”, Spaces MK2 lets users define geometry, materials, and source positions. The plugin calculates reflections by tracing acoustic rays and computing delays and attenuations based on path length, delivering natural-sounding reverb without relying on sampled IRs.
Spaces MK2 builds your acoustic space from scratch — not from a library. Set your room dimensions, assign materials to each wall, position sources and listener in 3D space, and hear reflections calculated with ray tracing physics. No hunting for IRs. No guessing.
Spaces MK2 features
- Ray Tracing Physics: Reflections are built by tracing acoustic rays through the defined room, calculating delays and attenuations based on actual path lengths for natural results.
- Modellable Room: Define room dimensions in meters (Width, Length, Height). Each wall has independent LF and HF controls for both reflections and diffusion.
- 3D Source/Mic Positioning: Position Speaker L/R sources and the listener microphone in X/Y/Z coordinates within the room.
- Remove Ceiling Option: Enable open-air or partially enclosed spaces for less “boxy” reverb characteristics.
- Stereo and Binaural Modes: Binaural mode uses a virtual head with two ears for immersive headphone listening; works without special headphones.
- Room Presets: Save and load complete room configurations. Set a default room that loads on startup.
- Global Controls: Macro controls for Reflections amount, Diffusion amount, and Dry/Wet mix.
Available in VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats for Windows and macOS, Spaces MK2 is priced €19.99 EUR. Owners of the original Spaces can upgrade for €4.99 EUR. Complete Bundle owners get a 40% discount on a purchase.
