- Redesigned Interface: A streamlined UI inspired by media-editing workflows, with a consolidated Layer Properties panel, intuitive controls, and a clear overview of all active elements.
- Preset Playlist: Create playlists of presets with individually assigned playback times, enabling automatic timed playback. Smooth transitions are supported with fade-in/fade-out, and you can trigger presets manually via MIDI or mouse.
- Audio Visualizers & Oscilloscope: Shaders now receive audio waveform and spectrum data, enabling detailed sound-reactive visuals such as live waveform and spectrogram displays.
- Live Input: Support for Syphon, Spout, and live camera feeds for seamless integration with other media tools.
- Text Material: Insert customizable text elements, cycle through multiple texts, and animate them like any other material.
- Render Output Material: Route visual output back into layers for recursive effects, fractals, and unique motion trails.
- Improved MIDI Mapping: Expanded flexibility with mapping range selection and Layer link support for powerful live control, as well as support for 14-bit MIDI controllers.
- Media Manager: Easily track, find, relink, and organize media assets.
- 4K Output: Export visuals in resolutions up to 4K, in both landscape and portrait formats.
VS 2 for Windows and macOS (VST/VST3, AU) is fully compatible with all existing VS expansion packs, and users can import their presets from VS. Custom shader materials may require small adjustments; full instructions are available in the product manual.
