Impact Soundworks has announced the release of an update to its Kontakt instrument library featuring taiko master Isaku Kageyama performing a selection of traditional taiko drums and percussive instruments in an intimate studio setting.

Version 1.5 of the Kageyama Taikos collection has been expanded to offer even more timbral variations: a brand-new 16″ Chudaiko drum as well as new reverse-side samples for two other drums. Playing on the reverse side of the drum is a common practice in taiko ensembles, so these additions lend even greater authenticity to the library.

The detailed, up-close recordings of Kageyama Taikos give this library the versatility to shine not just in traditional music and epic orchestral works, but anywhere else you need expressive, nuanced performance: pop and rock, jazz fusion, tense underscores, and more.

In addition to the new material, the updated Kageyama Taikos is now compatible with the free Kontakt Player. It is available to purchase for $99 USD.
