Initial Audio has announced the release of an update to its modular synthesizer instrument. Version 1.2.9 of SourceLab aims to deliver a smarter workflow, faster connections, and tighter control.
We’ve just pushed a significant update for SourceLab. Version 1.2.9 focuses on speed and usability, introducing real-time database syncing between instances and a brand-new way to patch your cables.
Changes in SourceLab v1.2.9
- Real-Time Database Sync: The database is now shared in real-time between all open plugin instances. This enables quicker project load times and a more intuitive workflow. Favorite a preset in one instance, and all others update instantly. Save a new sound, and it’s immediately available everywhere.
- Smart Connections: A new, easier way to wire your modules—perfect for laptop users. Simply Click & Hold an output node to highlight all possible connections, then click your desired input. No dragging required (though drag-and-drop still works if you prefer it).
- MSG Envelope Speed Control: You can now use MSG Envelopes similar to an LFO. Draw your curves on the grid and use the new speed control as a multiplier (e.g., 0.5 is half speed) to adjust playback while keeping your precise grid timing.
- General stability improvements across all DAWs.
- Minor UI fixes for smoother interaction.
The update is free for existing SourceLab users. New customers can purchase SourceLab for Windows and Mac (VST3, AU and AAX) at a 15% discount as part of a Christmas Sale (regular $169 USD). Use coupon code XMAS at the checkout to take advantage of the offer.
