Initial Audio has announced an update to its versatile multi-layer hybrid virtual instrument designed for sound design, combining wavetable synthesis, sampling, and loop slicing.
Version 2.1.1 of SourceLab brings powerful new features including Audio-Reactive Skin animations, a new Unison Comb Warp filter, and an enhanced preset generator. Alongside the update, a selection of new expansion packs has been released.

- Improvements to the Preset Generator for more diverse, category-relevant results.
- Added a Randomizer dice button for each Sound Source to randomize individual layers.
- Added Audio-Reactive animation components to the Skin Editor (with 10 color themes).
- Added a Level meter to the Skin Editor.
- Added Skin selection to the Main Menu.
- Added a “Send to back” option for Skin components.
- Added a new “Unison Comb Warp” filter.
- Added Prev/Next buttons to cycle filter types faster.
- Fixed a redraw issue with cables when scrolling Sources.
- Fixed close button overlap in the Skin Editor.
The update is free for exiting users, and new customers can purchase SourceLab for Windows and macOS (VST3, AU, AAX and standalone) for $119 USD for a limited time (regular $169 USD).
