Initial Audio has announced an update to its virtual instrument featuring a 6-layer engine, sampler, and wavetable synthesis.
Version 2.4.0 of SourceLab let users add their own sample folder in the Load Source browser for quick, easy loading into a Source. It currently supports single-sample loading — ideal for loops or instruments you can stretch across the keys.
Stop jumping between dedicated synths, samplers, and loop slicers. SourceLab 2 is one virtual instrument with an advanced wavetable engine, multisample playback, and loop slicing — plus 2,300+ presets from wavetable leads to Kontakt-style instruments, loops, arps, MIDI, and drums.
Changes in SourceLab v2.4.0
- Extra user file browser in the Load Source browser — add your own sample folders.
- Sample range & sequencer range less sensitive to Y-drag when moving (fewer accidental range changes while dragging in X).
- Filter tab is remembered when reopening the editor in your DAW.
- Filter warp & wavetable position now update correctly on subsequent notes (without needing modulation).
- Recording now works beyond the Main sequencer.
- PWM amount modulation in Instrument mode fixed.
- Sample display updates when choosing a Slice loop from the menu.
- Filter display updates correctly after closing & reopening the plugin editor.
- Removed Quality mode for drawable & wavetable filters (not needed, saved CPU).
- Stability fixes and optimizations throughout.
A free update for existing owners, new customers can purchase SourceLab for $99 USD for a limited time (regular $169 USD). It comes in VST3, AU and AAX plugin formats and as standalone software for Windows and macOS.
