Jon Meyer has announced the release of a new Kontakt featuring the sounds of drums played with broomsticks, tea towels and a fluffy beater.

Muted yet still vibrant and expressive, Soft Drums aims to fill the gap between jazz drum kits and dead 70’s kits.

Soft Drums was extensively sampled with multiple dynamic layers and round robins for each drum. The textured broomsticks and tea towel covered drums result in a slightly muted and warm tone ideal for situations that require present, but not overpowering drums, filling the void between retro jazz kits and that vintage 70’s splat.
