Kreuzberg Audio has recently released a creative filter geared towards basses and leads. STAFFEL hands the signal from one filter to a second one section by section, and turns a captured sound into a filter.
Two complete filters with up to seven sections each sit left and right, and the STAFFEL knob in the middle hands the signal from A to B, not all at once but section by section. On the way, filters appear that are neither A nor B. IMPRINT derives filter B from a sound: from the sidechain, the input or a file. STEP, ENVELOPE and LFO move the handover in sync with the host, and 51 factory presets in six banks are included.
Since version 1.1.0 the frequency response shows the spectrum and the pitch of the input.
Also available is RASPEL, a free resonant filter that saturates inside every filter stage and keeps its resonance. The plugin also features a character wavefolder and vintage circuit that snaps the filter like an old digital machine.
STAFFEL is priced €49 EUR, while RASPEL is free to download. Both plugins are available for Windows, macOS and Linux (VST3, AU, CLAP and standalone).
