KORG has introduced a new expansion sound library for KORG Module, the high-quality mobile sound module app for iPhone and iPad. Built around a meticulously recorded acoustic kit with a distinctly jazzy character, LA Studio Drums brings the feel of a real session room to the palm of your hand — for production, performance and practice alike.
LA Studio Drums was recorded in the studio of a top session drummer whose credits span film, television, commercials and video games. The kit is built around handmade shells from the 1990s and custom snare drums, tuned for a warm, unmistakably jazzy sound. The sessions captured both the character of the drums and the natural ambience of the room, so alongside the dry sounds an ambient variation delivers the depth and spaciousness of the space itself — right down to the luxuriant air moving around the kit.
Both stick and brush kits are included, opening the library to a wide range of styles — from hushed brushed ballads to full-bodied studio grooves.
LA Studio Drums can be used directly inside KORG Module, or played through the OSAKA gadget in KORG Gadget 3. The sounds can be brought into your workflow as an AUv3 plugin in compatible apps. The expansion is free to try for 7 days through the KORG Module in-app store.
To celebrate the release of LA Studio Drums, KORG Module Pro and KORG Gadget 3 for iOS are 50% off for a limited time. Eligible in-app purchases are included in the sale, which runs for one week only, until October 7th, 2026.
