Tracklib has returned with its signature Beat Battle Competition, this time aligning with legendary producer Pete Rock.

Having produced multiple songs for hip-hop icons like Nas, Run-DMC, Jay-Z, and Kanye West to name a few, Pete Rock is looking to offer his insight as a sampling trailblazer to a new up and coming producer. Tracklib has held a number of previous competitions partnering with artists including Redman, Just Blaze, and most recently Jim Jones and Maino aka the Lobby Boyz.

“I promised myself I would make the sampler my instrument,” something Pete Rock never let stray too far from his mind while navigating through the industry. “I think Tracklib can change how people make music by letting the freedom of sampling take place.”

Aspiring producers can create a beat using a sample from multitrack here “Handle With Care” by Ben Aiken from label Reservoir. The winning beat will be selected by Pete Rock himself, and Tracklib is rewarding the winner with the opportunity to work with Pete Rock in a virtual studio session, and win an autographed MPC Live II Retro Edition.

The competition ends on Sunday, November 28th, 2021.
