Loopmasters has released a sample pack which aims to capture the sound of the ‘golden era’ of hardcore, before the scene split off into jungle and happy harcore.
Produced by Codakrome, 91-92 Hardcore Rave contains everything you need to recreate that classic sound, including punchy drum loops, old school synth riffs, deep sub and synth basses, arpeggios, euphoric leads, and lush rushy pads.
The piano loops—recorded using a Korg M1, Roland JV1080, and Ensoniq SQ80—deliver the unmistakable Better Days and 40 Miles vibe. For authentic chord textures, this pack includes both traditional progressions and a few that use just one sampled chord (usually min7) played at different pitches—those parallel fifths would make Bach lose his mind! Each drum loop comes in multiple variations: a full version, plus separated breakbeat and electronic drum layers. You’ll also find a selection of pitch-shifted breaks for that late ‘92-‘93 Terminator-style sound.
To keep things true to the era, Codakrome used software versions of legendary synths like the Minimoog, Korg M1, Roland D-50, JD-800, Juno-60, SH-101, and the Alpha Juno (for those iconic hoovers!). Authentic effects units were also emulated, including Lexicon and Alesis reverbs, Roland chorus, and Boss delays, bringing that early ‘90s studio magic to your tracks.
The full pack is priced £34.95 GBP, with parts also sold separately starting from £12.95 GBP.
