Loopmasters has released a unique collection of sounds centered around the Cristal Baschet, an acoustic sculptural instrument invented in the 1950s by the Baschet brothers.
Loup Barrow – Cristal Baschet explores the full sonic range of the instrument, textures, and glassy sustained tones to more raw, resonant gestures and experimental articulations.
The goal was to capture not only the purity of the sound but also the physicality and nuance of performance. The recordings were made using high-quality close and ambient microphone techniques to preserve both detail and spatial depth. Multiple mic positions were used to capture the direct excitation of the glass rods as well as the natural resonance of the instrument’s structure. Minimal processing was applied in order to maintain the authenticity and dynamic range of the original performances.
The Loopcloud-ready sample pack is available to purchase for £34.95 GBP.
