Luca Romagnoli has announced an update to the open-source AI-integrated DAW written in C++20 on top of JUCE and Tracktion Engine.
Version 0.6.0 of MAGDA is mostly about hardware controllers.
Two ways to connect them — MIDI Learn for one-to-one mappings, automap profiles that follow the focused device. Plus a few macro and modulator routing additions, and the usual round of cleanup.
Changes in MAGDA v0.6.0
- MIDI Learn on any parameter, with bindings that follow the device across projects.
- Automap pairs a controller and a device in one click, using the controller profile and the device’s macro layout. Bundled profiles for Launchkey Mini MK3/MK4 and a generic 8-knob, plus an AI generator for anything else.
- Touch & Latch automation — completes the automation system from 0.5.0.
- Modulator → Modulator links — macros and modulators can drive other modulators, including LFO rates with their own automation lane.
Released under the GPL-3.0 license, builds of MAGDA are available for Linux, macOS, and Windows.
